Ballroom Dance Format
First Night is “Party Night”. (Dress Code…Semi-Formal)
The First Party begins at 6:00pm and is our “Get Acquainted Party” [Reception in Nvl // Hotel Manager's Reception in Indy]. Meet and greet old friends and make new ones. This is immediately followed by our “Dance Party” from 7:30pm to 11pm. Dance on a spacious Floating Wood dance floor to the music to some of the best Big Bands of “Today” playing a great variety of the best Dance Music from “Yesterday”.
Second Night its “Dress to the Nines” for our “Grand Ball”.
Featuring a night of Fine Dining 6pm to 7:30pm (Nashville only) and Dancing, 8pm to 11:30pm in Nvl, 7:30pm to 11pm in Indy, with your sweetheart to the great dance music of another Big Band. In addition, for your viewing pleasure, we will have an Exhibition of Ballroom Dancing during intermission.
Third Dance is a “Tea Dance” and a more leisure affair (Casual Attire-but no tee shirts or shorts please).
Great dance music continues from 10am till 1pm, with yet another great dance band. We do the “Tea Dance” so our dancers can get an early start home.
All orchestras are chosen for their quality of music with an emphasis on danceable music and variety of tempos that keeps people on the dance floor. Their well-written arrangements are designed with the dancer in mind.

A Southern Rhapsody Big Band Dance Weekend features the luxury of three days and two nights at a top hotel setting, the excitement of three Big Bands with fabulous music to dance the night and weekend away. The weekend is a meticulously planned event that offers 3 days of dancing, a group dance lesson, exhibitions, relaxation and even time for shopping if you like- in essence, a dance extravaganza that gets rave reviews from dedicated dance fans from all around the USA.
